The GOYBAND Creative Team
Each member of the Creative Team draws on his or her extensive professional background to add value to the film. These team members include:
Christopher Grimm (Director/Co-writer) wrote, produced, directed and starred in a series of TV promos and movie trailers for the Independent Film Channel, and directed the short comedy (and film festival favorite) “Looking for Dubinsky.” He has created original screenplays for Alan Rudolph (director of “Afterglow,” “Mortal Thoughts,” etc.), Davis Guggenheim (director of “An Inconvenient Truth,” “Gossip,” “Deadwood,” etc.; producer on “Training Day,” “Sex, Lies and Videotape,” etc.) and Madeline Warren (producer of “The Man Who Knew Too Little”). Besides his work on numerous award-winning shorts, Chris’ writing credits include the feature-length “Rhythm Thief” (festival awards include the Jury Prize at Sundance); “Spare Me” (Avignon Prix de Tournage winner) and “Calling the Ghosts” (winner of 2 Emmys & Cable Ace Award). Chris has worked as a writer, producer and actor with such A-list stars as John C. Reilly, Edie Falco, Jeffrey Wright, Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Corrigan, Michael Rappaport, William H. Macy, Bob Balaban, Tim Blake Nelson and Anna Friel.
Christopher J. Scott/Red Sky Pictures (Producer) is the head of Film and Television development for Red Sky Pictures, located within the Goldcrest Post Production building in Manhattan's West Village. Recent Red Sky Pictures projects include posting and authoring a DVD concert series titled "Reggae Carifest 2k5", a :30 sec commercial spot for Procter and Gamble's Downy Fabric Softener, and a :15 sec commercial spot for GSK Aqua fresh. Christopher's company partnered with SnoCountry.com to shoot a feature called "Snow Blind" (currently in post-production). Christopher Scott/Red Sky Pictures also produced the feature film "Staten Island" (release scheduled for 2007). Christopher is the director on the short film "Stricken" and the writer/director of the short film "You and I". Other partnerships through Red Sky Pictures include a possible relationship with Red Sky Pictures' casting director David Schiavone as well as post-production editing facilities.
David Schiavone/Red Sky Pictures (Producer) is one of the Partners and Lead Producers for Red Sky Pictures. Through Red Sky, he is working with Premo Pictures and IMG Media to produce the syndicated television series “Hip Hop Hold’em.” The show is slated to begin airing October 7th, 2006. Additional credits include; Snow Blind (a feature-length documentary), and two short films entitled “You and I” and “Stricken.” In addition to entertainment based projects, David continues to produce commercials for advertisers such as Aquafresh, Downy and Eli Liily.
Glen L. Scott (Editor) started his career in long form editing by working on the feature documentary “Healing Ground Zero” directed by Gus Theo. He soon after joined his brother Christopher J. Scott and new business partner David Schiavone to create Red Sky Pictures. Since Red Sky’s inception in 2004, Glen has worked on numerous projects, from corporate to commercial and television to feature film. His most notable editorial projects include, “Infamous Times – The Real 50 Cent” (DVD magazine series) directed by Tone Boots and Froi Cuesta, “The Confidence Game” and “Bubby Knows Best” (reality television show pilots), “5 Up, 2 Down” (short film) directed by Steven Kessler, “Stricken” (short film) directed by Jayce Bartok and Christopher J, Scott, “Festival” (short film) directed by Savior Allah and “You and I” (short film) directed by Christopher J. Scott, “Reggae Carifest 2K5” (concert DVD), “Staten Island” (feature film) directed by Aditya Chandora , “The World’s Best Prom” (feature documentary) directed by Ari Vena and Chris Talbot and “Snow Blind” (feature documentary) directed by Christopher J. Scott. Other long form credits include, Associate Director for “Gathering of the Vibes”(live to tape multi-camera concert shoot) and Post Production Producer for “Hip Hop Hold’Em” (syndicated television show).
Christa McNamee (Co-producer/Co-writer) is a graduate with Honors from NYU’s lauded Dramatic Writing Program. Recently, she was head of the New Media department of HiLo Productions, specializing in short mobile content: "mobisodes." Christa was also the Senior Producer for Short Form Content on "The Edge with Jake Sasseville." Segments of the show are in beta testing through xCella$ave in association with major cell phone carriers. Christa's film industry experience includes production manager credits and other crew positions on various independent films. She also co-leads, writes and sings in the band RIPE. Christa has played character roles in several independent films, her favorite parts being the larger-than-life Commandant in “Last Rites of the Dead” and Claire in "The Sickness"(both currently in post-production).
Dan Bar-Hava (Co-producer/Composer/Music Supervisor/Co-writer) composes and performs in the rock, dance, pop, jazz, world, classical and film scoring genres. His orchestral and chamber music has been performed in New York, St. Louis, Spain, Israel and Greece. Dan won second prize at the prestigious Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem with his classical choral piece “Sweet Night.” Dan has scored two feature films: "Living For Tomorrow" and “The Empath,” and has contributed music for a number of shorts and documentaries. Dan also teaches music, piano and composition in the Manhattan School of Music pre-college program. As a rock musician, he has headlined well-known venues like The Bitter End, Makor, The Underscore and Village Underground. His band RIPE lights up nightspots all over Manhattan and can be sampled at www.ripemusic.com.
Itai Horstock (Executive Producer/Creative Consultant) is an ex lawyer, venture capitalist and a writer living in Tel Aviv. He is currently developing a project based on the authentic recording from the front line of the 1973 Yom Kippur War between Israel and Egypt; these recordings were featured in Claude Lanzmann's movie, Tsahal (IDF- Israeli Defense Force). In addition, Itai has written many articles, scripts and short stories, and is currently working on his first novel. As a lawyer, Itai was the legal advisor for the Israeli Government Economic Mission to North America and part of merger and acquisition group of the prestigious New York law firm, Sherman & Sterling. He founded the Sherpa Group, a successful venture capital fund specializing in technology investment. After living 9 years in New York City Itai has returned to Israel and is now partner in its leading Family Office named "Excaliber Capital". Itai has spent several years traveling to places like Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Patagonia, Ecuador, India, Nepal Tibet, Thailand, Australia and Ethiopia.
Daniel Blumberg (Executive Producer) is the founder and executive producer of Reaction Entertainment, a feature film production company. He also works on commercials and industrials for several firms, including Production Central and Firefly Entertainment. He recently completed national spots for Diageo Liquors and the City University of New York. Daniel has advised the independent film production company, Intrinsic Value, since its conception, and has played a critical role in the development and completion of their feature films “Three Penny America” and Austin Chick’s 2001 Sundance favorite “XX/XY,” starring Mark Ruffalo and Kathleen Robertson (released by IFC Films). He has represented film projects at all the major festivals, including Sundance and Cannes. He took “Beyond the Ocean” (Sundance 2000) to the Berlin and Rotterdam film markets. Daniel recently produced a digital short film, “Christmas with Amy,” directed by Erik Bryan Slavin and “Young Americans” with Todd Smith (2004 Hamptons Film Festival). He is currently producing Matthew Harrison’s feature, “The Deep and Dreamless Sleep.” Daniel worked as a consultant on the development of the “American Originals Now” CD series for Van Dijk Multimedia in the Netherlands. He is a member of the IFP and the REEL ROUNDTABLE producer’s network, and is an associate producer of RIPFest.
David Fuhrer (Executive Producer) is a studio owner, producer, filmmaker and actor. His company, Production Central, is a fully equipped, modern production facility that specializes in commercial, television and film work. David has written, directed, produced, edited and acted in numerous award-winning shorts, including “The Great Cheeseman of Prague,” which was awarded the 1st Prize for Comedy at the Suffolk County Film Festival. David played all six characters in the film festival favorite “Looking for Dubinsky,” directed by Chris Grimm. His educational video “Rapmatics” won 1st Place at the National Black Programming Consortium of Filmmakers, and won the Audience Award in The Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame. David also worked as an editor on Abel Ferarra's film "The Funeral." David, the recipient of the Andrea Zahler filmmaking scholarship award from NYU, is currently writing his second feature script, “Traffic Patterns.”
David Sonkin (Creative Consultant) has worked on nearly 100 feature films, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and with a perspective gained by an over-the-shoulder vantage point of such acclaimed directors as Mike Nichols (“The Graduate,” “Regarding Henry,” “The Birdcage”), Chris Columbus (“Home Alone,” “Mrs.Doubtfire,” “Stepmom”), and John Avildsen (“Save the Tiger,” “Rocky,” “Karate Kid”), he has learned firsthand the process and value of creating artistic and commercial success. Applying a blend of practical knowledge and passionate vision, David’s first feature, “Friends, First and Foremost” brought him unprecedented double-screenings, consecutive standing ovations, and a nod for Best Feature at the 1999 Long Island International Film Expo. In 2001, he turned his eye towards the subtle complexities of the frighteningly intelligent thriller, “The Empath” (starring “The Wonder Years’” Dan Lauria and John Shea, star of the cult FX hit, “Mutant X”). A strategic alliance with Long Island-based xCella$ave (makers of the patented Phave Media Player) has given David the ability to tap directly into the estimated $25 Billion+ m-commerce market. Several products are in development (and in beta test stage) for the Phave Media Player.
